Silot, a Singapore-based fintech startup, has entered into a strategic partnership with IDEA Communication, a global integrated consulting firm with offices in Beijing and Singapore. IDEA’s stable of clients includes giants such as the German chemicals company BASF, Chinese investment conglomerate Fosun, Swedish carmaker Volvo Cars, and more.

Fintech, or financial technology, aims to compete with, supplement, and potentially even supplant traditional financial methods in the provision of financial services and products. It is an emerging industry that uses technology to improve activities in finance. The fintech industry is expected to grow considerably in the coming years, as fintech becomes more widely adopted by traditional financial institutions. Fintech will bring greater efficiency through innovative technologies such as cloud and quantum computing, and greater productivity through the application of automation and robotics. In addition, a new wave of regulatory firms, aided by fintech, will bring efficiency and uniformity to risk management and regulatory reporting. In a similar vein, Silot aims to empower banks and other financial institutions with the introduction of novel commercial data solutions harnessing artificial intelligence (AI) and blockchain technology to greatly enhance efficiency and capability. Central to this is Silot’s Banking Platform, which in turn comprises three components: Silot Payment Engine, Silot Merchant Suite, and Silot Guardian.

As Silot’s communications partner, IDEA will be responsible for addressing a challenge ubiquitous in the highly competitive startup space – the challenge of proving a new brand’s credibility and viability. Furthermore, public sentiment towards blockchain technology can, at best, be characterised as one of caution and scepticism, and one of IDEA’s key undertakings will involve shaping public perception of Silot as being more than just another of the many blockchain startups that have sprung up in recent years. Taking charge of Silot’s overall communications strategy, IDEA’s campaign will be aimed at elucidating a coherent brand identity and key message(s), securing positive media coverage; as well as enhancing Silot’s brand awareness via events and trade shows.

“As a nascent startup in today’s cut-throat business landscape, we understand the challenge we face – but it is a challenge we relish. Our partners at IDEA are similarly bullish, and I am sure we will grow together from strength to strength,” said Andy Li, founder and CEO of Silot.

“When Andy, Silot’s founder and CEO, first approached us, I knew right away that this was a job for us. At IDEA, we embrace a good challenge, and we can’t wait to get started,” said Helena Ma, owner and managing director of IDEA Communication.
