IDEA communication Partners with iGlobe Partners to organize healthtech forum

27 March 2023 Singapore-  In the next few decades, the aging population will be one of the biggest challenges to healthcare systems worldwide. The fast-rising cost of healthcare is a major challenge for governments, insurers and employers.  According to the World Health Organization, one out of six people will be aged over 60 years by 2030.

The number of persons aged 80 years or older is expected to triple between 2020- 2050 to reach 426 million. In Singapore alone, it is estimated that by 2030, there will be 900,000 people aged over 65 years and healthcare expenditure is expected to triple to $60 billion per year.

With our ageing population, Asia is going to be centre of a dementia epidemic. Research has already shown the Covid 19 is affecting our brain structures and will make these problems worse. The cost to our societies will be very high. Brain conditions impact not just patients, but will have huge strain on families and communities.

In our special hybrid event, we have curated a panel with insiders, innovators, disruptors, investors to discuss the implications of longevity, challenges and opportunities for health tech startups, root causes of brain problem and mental health conditions in our society, government’s role in addressing the chronicle issues, etc.

“Health is wealth” as the old adage goes. Amidst the growing global traction and awareness on longevity, mental healthcare, and health tech, we curated a small forum aggregating industrial experts, investors, tech innovators, influencers and disrupter at 67PallMall, discussing about the implications of longevity, policy landscape across the world, challenges and opportunities for industry players, investment opportunities etc. We came into the conclusion that:

  1. Still at a nascent stage and we have barely scratched the surface. Despite the bourgeoning supply of health tech startups, there are still ample untapped opportunities for both investors and innovators.
  2. Preventive health and quality living matters, apart from the common notion of extending lifespan or reverse aging.
  3. Working with regulators to incentivize mass adoption and paradigm shift of the mentality matters;
  4. startups need to take a customer-oriented approach and offer solution with strong value proposition integrating accessibility, affordability, aftermarket care etc.

We appreciate our partners iGlobe Partners, Aktivolab, Neurowyzr, HealthXCapital and family offices for your attendance and support.
